Oil Spill Volunteers

HandsOn Battle Creek is currently making a list of people that may want to get involved in the clean-up efforts for the Kalamazoo River. As soon as opportunities are created, volunteers will be contacted by the Office of Emergency Management. To become a part of this effort, you must create a user profile on our website, or if you already have one  login by clicking here.

 

Suggested donation items:

  • Sheets - not fitted
  • Large Towels
  • Pillow Cases
  • Medium and large cardboard boxes
  • Small white dry erase boards
  • 3 to 4 inch diamenter firewood
  • Water for those in need of fresh water

Volunteers of all ages needed for the International event held in Battle Creek at Kellogg Arena on August 5- 8, 2010. Call HandsOn Battle Creek to sign up (269) 788-1135.

The 8th Triennial World Hap Ki Do Championships has added three new events to the roster for this year!  Now available is a Hap Ki Do empty-handed forms competition, and a weapon forms competition!  In addition, the World Championships will now include a BREAKING competition, sanctioned and run by the USBA/WBA, the World Sanctioning Body for Competitive Breaking!  More information, including rules, will be posted very soon on these exciting additions to the World Hap Ki Do Championships!

Convoy of Hope Outreach

Convoy of Hope is a program that reaches out to underserved populations in the United States and around the world. They provide food, water, and basic necessities for thousands of families each year. Convoy of Hope is planning to help more than 5,000 people in the Battle Creek area by offering free meals, career services, health screenings, and other activities to those in need.          

 

  • Volunteers needed on the 19th - 21st of August
  • Volunteers will set up for the event on the 19th and 20th, actual event is on the 21st.
  • Around 10 volunteers needed, age 16 years old and up.
  • Convoy of Hope event held at NorthWestern Middle School
