HandsOn Battle Creek works with the desire to be a part of something bigger, the drive for change, the aspiration to make a difference, and turns it into action through volunteering.
Martin Austin - AmeriCorp VISTA, Adult Program
Martin Austin is a native of Battle Creek and a proud graduate of Battle Creek Public Schools. Martin recently graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelors of Arts in Organizational Communications and a minor in General Business. He intends to further his education by pursing my Masters in Public Administration with a non-profit focus in the near future.
Outside of work Martin is very active in his local church and loves working with youth. Martin also likes to listen to music and to attend live concerts. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends and is always looking to make more friends.
Martin’s goal is to be an asset here at HandsOn Battle Creek and would love to know that after his year of service, HandsOn is in a better position to serve Calhoun County and continue to build a strong, caring community.
We are collecting books, books, and more books. We have a drive going currently where individuals who donate children’s books at the HandsOn office can be in the running to win one of two $25 gift certificates to Walmart. Walmart has generously donated a $75 dollar gift card to HandsOn for our BarnRaising.
Please stop by the HandsOn Office to donate your children's book for 8:00 am till 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
