Youth Public Engagement Internship

The Youth Public Engagement Internship is multifaceted aiming not only to engage youth in the community, but to create a network of agencies, organizations, companies and community members who are dedicated to engaging young people as valued resources in the enhancement of their community.   It is an opportunity for youth (age 16-18) to obtain a semester long internship with a partnering site in the nonprofit, for-profit or governmental sector. Upon successful completion of the program, interns will receive a $1,000 scholarship at the conclusion of the semester.

Congratulations to the 2010 Spring Interns for another successful semester!

At the end of every semester, students are required to complete a service project planned and implemented entirely by them. On June 1st, 2010, the Spring Interns completed their service project at Heritage Assisted Living in which they hosted a "Senior Prom". There was music, dancing, laughing, cake & punch, and even a crowned King and Queen! Click on the picture below to view the event.
